SUBPLATE LOCATING KEYS

Round

Diamond

The subplate hole pattern shown here allows mounting any size or combination of Rectangular Tooling Plates, either lengthwise or widthwise.

FEATURES: Subplate Locating Keys provide a simple way to use standard fixture plates as quick-change fixtures on a subplate. Two standard diameters (5/8" and 1-3/16") match standard fixture-key holes. This allows mounting the same fixture on a subplate or directly on a machine table. A round key and a diamond (relieved) key are used together for precise location without binding. Diamond keys are marked on top, to ensure proper orientation in the hole. Insert keys from above after placing fixture on the subplate. If desired, keys can be removed before machining, after the fixture is fastened. Tapped hole in the top of each key makes insertion and removal easier. Made in USA.

SMALL DIAMETER (5/8"): Use to mount any fixture with standard 5/8" holes for Sure-Lock Fixture Keys. Use one round key and one diamond key — see Dimensions page for part numbers.

LARGE DIAMETER (1-3/16"): Use to mount any of our standard Rectangular Tooling Plates, blank or modular, on a subplate for quick-change fixturing. The subplate hole pattern shown below allows mounting any size or combination of Rectangular Tooling Plates, either lengthwise or widthwise. Use one round key and one diamond key — see Dimensions page for part numbers.

MATERIAL: 1144 steel, heat treated, black oxide finish.
